Culture captured in cross Stitch... I took up cross stitch over 20 years ago when I was expecting my son. I soon decided that designing my own charts might be fun so I dusted off my art history, anthropology and native studies books to look for inspiration. I continued my search on-line and discovered the world of ancient textiles from South and Central American cultures. The beautiful and complex woven art of the Inca, Chimu, Huari and Paracas people heavily influenced many of my early designs. Other inspirations came from the Celts, Egyptians and Navaho. This has been a very rewarding adventure in learning and has enriched my knowledge greatly.
